Police Being Robbed of Employment

Police Being Robbed of Employment

So I made that little image out of the police headlines for today and the outlook for law enforcement employment has never really seemed more bleak. Cities and even small towns are cutting police forces across the globe to help balance out the budget shortfalls of nearly every city on earth (or so it seems). Those who are not letting people go are restricting hours, cutting employment down to part time, and doing a whole world of other things that leave this writer feeling quite unsafe about.

To be completely honest there has not been a time in my life when I have needed police protection. In fact, I am sort of the type to avoid them, not because I have a problem with authority, but rather I have this intense police fetish that... I should probably not get into right now.  With that said, the thought of thousands of police officers being let go around the nation and the world is pretty scary. These are the people who are there to serve and protect the people and should at least in most cases be the last to get laid off.

I am personally thinking we should deal with the out of control spending on people who are sucking us dry with Social Security but then again I am not up for election anytime soon. The job market for law enforcement was already pretty tough to get into - and this will only make things worse. Let's hope the boys at Homeland Security can scoop up some of these men and women while this all gets figured out.
